Amret MFI organizes a program to celebrate and provide prize for children of customers who used “Kmeng Chhlat Account”

Phnom Penh: Amret Microfinance Institution, on December 3 and 5, 2024, organized a program to celebrate and provide prize for children of customers who used Amret’s “Kmeng Chhlat Account” and received A and B grades in the baccalaureate exam for the past academic year (2023-2024).

Amret provided incentives to 63 children of customers (23 with A grades and 40 with B grades) of $1,000 each for children of customers who used “Kmeng Chhlat Account” and received A grades and $700 for B grades. The program will be held in 6 regions, which are Amret’s operating areas. The program on December 3, 2024 took place in Phnom Penh, Prey Veng, and Siem Reap, while the program on December 5, 2024 took place in Battambang, Kampot, and Kampong Cham provinces.

“Kmeng chhat Account” is a joint savings account between parents or guardians and their children, offering parents the flexibility to set their savings goals and monthly payment amounts according to their personal needs and financial capabilities. In addition, account holders will be protected by a free life insurance package of $4,000 during the savings period, and will receive a cash incentive of up to $1,000 for children who receive an A grade and $700 for a B grade in the Secondary School Certificate (Grade 12) exam.

This is the fourth year that Amret has created the “Kmeng Chhlat Account” with the aim of helping parents fulfill their children’s dreams of a four-year college education. Amret is truly proud to have been part of the journey with its customers over the past four years.

To date, more than 40,000 customers have been using the “Kmeng Chhlat Account”, of which nearly 30,000 are female. Amret would like to express its deepest gratitude to all customers for their support and trust in using the “Kmeng Chhlat Account”. Moving forward, Amret is committed to continuing to contribute to fulfilling the dreams of parents planning their children’s future education plans!

It is also worth noting that this is the second year that Amret has organized a program to celebrate and provide incentives to the children of customers who used the “Kmeng Chhlat Account”. The first program in 2023 provided incentives to 21 “Kmeng Chhlat Account” customers’ children who received A and B grades, which cost a total of $16,800.
