On June 01, 2024, Microfinance Institution “Amret” announced the official launch of QR Code cross-border payment scanning service with Thai merchants through Amret Mobile in order to join the National Bank of Cambodia in Promote the wider use of the riel for other payments in the region.
All Amret customers who traveling to Thailand can use Amret Mobile to scan payments from Riel accounts with Thai Merchant QR with Prompt Pay logo anywhere in Thailand easily, quickly, securely and conveniently. Free of charge with up to 10 million Riel per day. PromptPay QR is a standard QR Code payment system in Thailand that allows all Amret Mobile customers to scan and pay at more than 7 million locations across Thailand using PromptPay QR Thailand from five banks, Kasikornbank. (KBank), Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Bangkok Bank, Krungthai Bank, Bank of Ayudhya and other banks to be launched later.
